Carnivore research (lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, wild dog). Operated as guide with paying volunteers and conducted numerous walks to view cheetah on foot. 2005 - 2006 - Limpopo South Frontiers - tourism company start up (self-employ), touring of Kruger & Pilanesberg National Parks, inter alia (eg. Botswana). 2005 - Contracted by BBC Natural History Unit - guide for film making - Savuti, Botswana (lion- elephant predation) 2006 - 2007 - Squacco Heron Projects - Ecological training & monitoring officer - Okavango Delta, Botswana. Carnivore research - collaring, and radio-tracking large carnivores (lion, cheetah, leopard, spotted hyena). 2007 - 2008 - Senior Guide - Imbali Safari Lodges, based Hamiltons Tented Camp, Kruger National Park. Guide - open-vehicle, walks, etc, and environmental manager in situ. 2008 - 2010 - Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), Carnivore Conservation Group, Venetia Wild Dog Project co-ordinator. Wild dog researcher based at De Beers Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve. Wild dog tracking tourism done, linked to research project - main work was radio-tracking, collaring etc. Also involved in captures, collarings, and readio-tracking of other carnivores (eg. lion, leopard, cheetah), on Venetia, and other parks eg. Mapungubwe National Park, Northern Tuli Game Reserve. Did assist with many walks on reserve for in particular archaeology based walks. |
